In the crossover event SECRET WARS (2015), Miles and his supporting cast are integrated into the primary Marvel Universe after the multiverse is recreated by Reed Richards. Miles and Peter maintain a mentor-protégé dynamic, though Miles is based out of Brooklyn, as opposed to the games placing him and his family in Harlem. But even with the situation going from bad to worse, Miles has never been one to back down from doing what’s right.
Fans can expect to spot places like Brooklyn Visions Academy, Midtown High School, and Aunt May’s house, where Peter is living presently. While there are moments where the narrative will require you to control either Miles or Peter during specific scenes, there are also times when you can switch between the two on a whim. The choice is yours on how you want to use their specific powers to take on certain activities and crimes. They won’t just try to out-fight you, but they’ll also aim to out-think you.

Peter befriends Jefferson’s son, Miles Morales, and persuades him to volunteer at F.E.A.S.T. Kraven injects Connors with a new Lizard serum, turning him into the iconic giant creature. This version has a full-fledged alligator look, nodding to Mortal Kombat 1’s Reptile. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 includes a plethora of suits for both Miles and Peter, but some outrank others in terms of style. He can then see who’s the strongest and then take them on himself to prove he’s the apex hunter.
Peter starts his first day as a physics teacher at Brooklyn Visions Academy with Miles among his students, but they are interrupted by a rampaging Sandman, requiring both the Spider-Men to subdue him. Fired for abandoning the class, Peter returns to his Aunt May’s home in Queens–which he has moved into following her death[b]–to meet with Mary Jane. They are surprised by Harry, who has miraculously recovered from his terminal illness. Harry hires Peter to work at his environmental technology startup, the Emily-May Foundation (named after Aunt May and Harry’s mother Emily), so they can pursue his dream of “healing the world”. While overseeing a prison transfer with Peter at The Raft, a vengeful Miles fails to stop the Hunters from capturing Martin Li, who previously killed his father, Jefferson Davis.
The custom console is a new black, white, and red design, intending to highlight Symbiote tendrils encroaching on the Spider-Man logo. The DualSense features the same color scheme and pattern, with the Spider-Man logo front and center on the touchpad. Arriving on May 6, otherwise known as Free Comic Book Day, is a prequel story to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
It might not be the newest or prettiest game on this list, but the vibe and experience hasn’t been replicated by anything before or since, even its own sequels. I tried to create a balanced experience overall and made sure I was tackling just as many side quests and hunting collectibles as I was unravelling the tangled tale. That really helped in unlocking some of the more power abilities and unique suits to use throughout the story missions but also contributed to my time with the game feeling like a complete experience.
Chinatown is also home to the FEAST foundation that Aunt May and Martin Li co-founded to help the homeless and the needy of New York Ctty. As unsuspecting as Greenwich may sound like, it is home to the Sorcerer Supreme’s Sanctum Sanctorum. With the passing of Aunt May, Peter also launched the Emily-May Foundation headquarters in Greenwich to honor her memory. Harry reunited with Peter and Mary Jane early in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, apparently cured of his terminal condition and ready to use his family’s resources to change the world. In reality, Harry had secretly bonded with the Venom symbiote, which hid within Harry’s body, with its origin revealed to be from a meteorite recovered by Oscorp years prior.
Another is Hydro Punch, which is almost certainly a reference to Hydro Man. Dazzler’s Stage is a small tent pitched up with a dancer, referencing Dazzler from the X-Men, and so on. Even more peculiar, if you head to the opposite side of the building, you’ll find a bookstore that you can actually enter via the open front door (an extreme rarity). Inside you’ll be able to see into the secret room through a bookshelf on the back wall – but also notice the metallic goat/ram skulls on the wall of the store and the abstract painting. With the Spider-Men slinging around some serious upgrades, it makes sense that the skill trees have experienced a boost, too. There are now three different skill trees to develop as the game progresses. The two individual strands focus on what makes each hero unique, such as Miles’ bioelectricity and invisibility, and Peter’s Spider-Arms and Symbiote powers. Building on top of the classic web-swinging fun that the previous two games delivered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces the ability to glide using Web Wings. But they aren’t just a flashy addition from the comics and movies – they entirely change how you navigate around Marvel’s New York.
